ST. ALPHONSUS LAUNCHES A VETERAN HEALTH PROGRAM, POWERED BY WCH, TO HELP VETERANS WITH HEALTH CARE

NAMPA, ID, June 27, 2019 — St. Alphonsus in Nampa is launching a new program to provide comprehensive health care to veterans in Idaho while bridging the gap for those that need care.

The staff at St. Al’s has been trained to better understand the physical, emotional and mental impact that comes with serving in the military.

“It is a chance for us to take better care of them and more specifically quickly diagnose those things that may be a result of combat experience oversees,” said Travis Leach the President of St. Alphonsus. “We brought in a company called Warrior Centric Health.”

Sometimes military members come home with different symptoms, so the physicians have learned about things like Agent Orange from the Vietnam era and how exposure to burn barrels has affected the latest generation.

“Today is an exciting day because we get to shine a light on some innovative ways on how we can take care of these veterans and their families,” said Bobby Sanchez who works for the City of Nampa, but also served as an Army Ranger for 24 years.

This program will also help bridge the gap for those who don’t qualify for health care through the VA. The two organizations will work together in the Treasure Valley in an effort to take care of Idaho veterans.

The Military Veterans Program is a nationwide initiative and St. Alphonsus in Nampa is one of five Trinity Health hospitals that will participate in this new program.
