Kalpesh is a physician scientist, inventor, and an IT professional who regularly advises investors and small businesses alike. He is the Director of Cloud Applications with Optimoz, Inc where he evaluates new technologies, designs and develops cloud native applications, develops and maintains business relations with various partners.
Kalpesh earned his medical degree from a well-known medical college in India. He did research training at NIH and the Johns Hopkins University. He made significant contributions in the fields of pancreatic cancer therapeutics, immunology, aging, and HIV and licensed his invention to industry. His research focused on mesothelioma, diabetes, and treatment disparities when he became Director of Translational Therapeutics Laboratory at VA Hospital. These research projects involved big data analysis of more than 22 million veterans. He has published more than twenty-five original research papers, reviewed other scientist’s research, and have presented his research at various venues.
He is also an expert in small device controls for design, manufacturing, testing, and FDA regulations. He evaluates startups for VCs. His expertise on several fields uniquely positions him to advise them for better investment decisions.
He is an active volunteer leader in non-profit organizations and has been honored with Maryland Governor’s Citation for dedicated volunteer service as a caring professional.
